[asterisk-dev] asterisk API

Hi all,

I'm just beginning to learn about asterisk. I've seen a few references to a C-level API but can't seem to locate any documentation online. Does such a thing exist? I'm still waiting for a linux box before I download/install the software -- maybe it will become obvious at that point?
