hi all
just before 1.2.10, there was a "slight correction" in the code that
changed the numbers logged in CDR from using the CALLERID(number) to
using the CALLERID(ANI) instead. This was after bug #7285 was solved,
and this functionality was merged into 1.2. This was reported as a
new bug here http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=7695
Now, this means that anyone who're not using identical SIP (or
whatever) usernames/accounts and callerids need to rewrite their
config to set the ANI instead of the cidnum. Some have said this was
clearly a bug, and that ANI should have been there in the first
place, and therefore just nice to get fixed. But NOT in 1.2. Breaking
backward compatibility from 1.2.9 to 1.2.10 is BAD, and doing it for
something as critical as CDRs is bad indeed. Some stated that the
docs should be updated, although my opinion is that such
functionality should NOT be changed in a release track.
So, how are the lines? What should be merged in release, and what
should not?
best regards
roy
