[asterisk-dev] Test Configurations

Hello Everyone,

	Recently I posted a response to Olle's rally for a test of a branch.
He had mentioned a configuration he was using to stress test Asterisk.

	Most of us have at one time stress tested Asterisk using different
protocols, codecs, etc on various types of hardware. Clearly there are
more permutations with all of these variables than there are sample
configurations (1).  :)

	Olle took my simple request for a copy of his configuration to the next
level. Perhaps we should setup a SVN branch for sample test
configurations. I can think of at least the following basic configs:

SIP -> SIP w/ reinvites
SIP -> IAX
SIP -> IAX w/trunking
SIP -> SIP wo/ reinvites

	You will notice that these are all fairly lightweight testing
scenarios. They are also the ones I hear the most (usually when talking
about a Soekris).

	In some cases there might be as many as three different configurations
to complete the test scenario:

"User Agent A" -> Testee -> "User Agent B"

	How practical is the idea of setting up and maintaining these "test"
config branches? What scenarios would you, the Asterisk developers,
like to see most tested?
