why do we need to hurry so much to get 1.2 released? IMHO, a more  
stable 1.2 will be far better than an unstable one, even if that  
means we need to wait another three months, or even six. Most likely  
it won't make any difference for the people using asterisk in the  
first place, since they  can stick to the betas or use 1.0. A rock  
solid 1.2 would be very good for the asterisk project.
