The only things that go into UPDATE are non-backwards-compatible 
changes; if we tried to list every new feature there it would be an 
enormous list.

You've not seen it on asterisk-cvs because it was committed a very long 
time ago... as I mentioned in my other response, look in the source for 
how the VM_CATEGORY channel variable is handled.
