[Asterisk-Dev] Coding convention: ast_log vs. ast_verbose

Hi,

I'm doing some enhancement on the ENUM code again (related to
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-haberler-carrier-enum-00.txt)
and will add some instrumentation as well (e.g. time all ENUM lookups).

Therefore my question:

Is there a defined policy regarding when to use ast_log versus ast_verbose?

My guess is that ast_log is for writing to logfiles and thus for

* very detailed debugging output
* anything you want to postprocess with a script
* anything you want to save directly to a file

whereas ast_verbose is for

* anything you want ot see in the console
* shoudl give basic info on what this module is doing
* vebosity should be configurable

Is this correct?

/ol
