Why separate things for these cards specifically?  Zaptel has a defined 
interface method.  Bastardizing it up to save a couple of commands is 
ridiculous.

Unless I am misunderstanding your request (and the thread that followed) -- 
Are you simply trying to make it "easier" for these cards?
