The typical practice is that you have to pay some minimum upfront fee in 
order to get a license to use it in one product. If you want a license 
that covers multiple products(including those you have not even dreamed 
of yet) you will pay a lot more upfront money but your per-unit fee will 
be much lower.

I suppose that any patent holder might consider granting a license that 
the end user could transfer from one product to another if you offer 
them enough money. Loan me about 100 megabucks and I'll see what I can do.
