[Asterisk-Dev] Adding a new module

Hello,
I will be shortly adding a telecom web service (Parlay X) support to
asterisk. I was wondering if it's an acceptable design to code a built
in web service module into asterisk using the gSoap toolkit for the task
instead of relying on apache as it need additional modules and
configurations. 
Your thoughts/ideas on this would be useful.
