Sure, sounds reasonable.  Got some coding time on your hands?  :-) 
This has been discussed before, and the patch is pending for 
something similar - maybe you can help debug and add your 
requirements:

Now that we have that data, we need to turn it into something useful 
like CQDR records that are consistent across all channel types, and 
maybe into clever transmission mechanisms like the Rx-Stat, Tx-Stat 
stuff in the SIP headers:
