It will certainly not support IM.

The patch for presence is being considered for commiting into
asterisk, it's quite well tested now.

BTW: I have (the same ugly as IM) preliminary support for PUBLISH method and
extended presence in Asterisk, if anyone is interested. But it's not a
very nice code.
