I checked out yesterday:
Asterisk CVS-HEAD built by root at sin on a i686 running Linux
on 2005-08-13 21:10:37 UTC

I'm also running Debian Sarge, and all is working great.

I didn't use the debian kernel sources, but the kernel.org
2.6.12.2
