Hello list members, just joined..
Been looking at Asterisk for a while, I have a computer loaded up with Fedora 1 and a 1 port card which would connect my machine to one phone line (forgot the name of the card). I installed Asterisk on it but have not have time to configure it yet so there it sits the same way for months now. I also bought to GrandStream IP phones for it.
Although I need to learn the ins and outs of Asterisk in the long run I need to get a phone system up and running soon. I am pretty sure I will not have the time to dive in any time soon.
I thought someone on the list would have an interest in setting up what we need for a fee (no a big fee ☺ ).
Here is what I want to do at least for now..
I want to setup this server to work interoffice using VOIP phones on each persons desk, about 10 stations at some point but only a few initially. I should be able to add the additional phones later as I will just look at the config for the others. The intraoffice communications will happen on VOIP only. I want one real phone line hooked into the system for incoming and outgoing calls as well as probably 2 or 3 strictly voice over IP lines. When I say VOIP lines I mean something like Vonage but using a direct connection from Asterisk to the VOIP provider without the need for the converters etc. The VOIP providers will of course give us complete termination. Lastly, I will want one IP phone to be part of our internal office system but the phone will actually be in another state.
Does all of this make sense? Questions?
Thanks for listening to me babble and I look forward to participating in the list if you can all stand another newbie ☺
Thanks,
Todd Routhier
