[Asterisk-Dev] IAX Non technical question

This is question addressed to guys from Digium. 

I was looking for a iax library for linux/unix in source code, and i
found only one on this site:
http://slackpacks.tchelinux.com.br/iax/
Actually it is in binary only and of course if is a problem to use use
it on other platforms. At the same time the protocol  id described and
published by digium
and by the source code in asterisk.

Will it be a problem is a third party will use these sources and
develop and manufacture devices based on iax-iax2 ?
