Our point is to create our own system. As we are using very expensive 
codec (G.723.1) we need to use hardware, which supports it natively. 
Asterisk is very nice, because we are planning to join SIP, H.323, MGCP 
- depending on device. Another way is much less customizable Mediant 
2000, which is much more expensive.
