[Asterisk-Dev] Zap Channel wait for # (perhaps moved to dial())

Hey all,

I hope this isn't considered "cross-posting". I brought this up on the users
list and nobody had much to offer. I think it is definitely a development
questions.

I am using the "c" option when transferring to a zap channel to wait for a #
before connecting the calling party. It works as advertised, however I would
like to play a prompt to the called party. (ie Please press # to accept this
call)

http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0002356 seems to be related.

I think there are two separate but related points here. One is the ability
on a Zap channel, to play a message to the called party while still waiting
for the # key to be pressed. The other is to move this functionality to the
dial application so that it could be used across all channel types. The
first doesn't seem like it would too hard, and I don't know enough to even
guess is the other is possible.

Anyone know status of this? Or of a workaround of some sort?

Thanks,
Chris
