[Asterisk-Dev] Make other modems to work as fxo with Asterix

Hi all
Is anyone working in make  drivers for other modems (for example 537ep) 
to work as fxo in Asterix?
I would like work in it, but I don't know really, how.. ;)
I think and suppose that:
First: make or adapt (reuse) any modem-driver for linux
Second: I will connect this driver with zaptel
Is this correct?

Can anyone help me what steps must I do?
