What kind of restart?  Asterisk soft restart, kill -9 restart, warm
reboot, or cold reboot?

Also, what processor are you using, and what options did you turn on
in zconfig.h?  The contents of zaptel.conf and zapata.conf might be
useful, too, depending upon the answers above.
