Not to nitpick, but there is absolutely nothing you can do, including
dying, which will free you from the possibility of being sued. Having
a non-frivolous case is another matter entirely, but even showing up
in court to have a frivolous case dismissed is not a free proposition
(which is the main point of most filed cases anyway -- to harass the
person being sued).
But your hypothetical submitter above doesn't free Digium from
liability, either. If you receive stolen property, you must give it
up immediately upon being informed that it is stolen property, or
you're an accessory to its theft.
