[Asterisk-Dev] modem as a phone emulator

Hello everyone.

Does anybody know wether it is possible to use 
a regular modem, plugged to a 
Dialogic board using the RJ-45 standard jacks
(specifically a Dialogic D41H) and simulate
incoming and outgoing phone calls? I know there
are such hardware emulators, but I don't know
wether this other approach is possible.
