Hi Glenn,
   For this question, the Wiki is your friend whilst there are some on 
this list who aren't.

This is/should be a FAQ - however, for completeness...
Asterisk requires a later version of BISON than is shipped with Mac OS X
up to and including 10.3.5 (I must remember to check Tiger).

Thus you lucky man, you have to install the developer package and then 
either install FINK
or Darwin Ports and then use them to install BISON (version 1.875 is 
available from both).
Then ensure that the "new" version is the one used by ensuring that 
wherever Fink/Darwin Ports
puts it is first in your $PATH, and then you can have another go at 
Asterisk.
