[Asterisk-Dev] Debug info over Manager API

I am currently developing a GUI for OS X, and using the Manager API to 
manage Asterisk.

I had planned to have a button turning debug on/off, and filter the 
debug messages streaming over the Manager API. But I found today that 
no debug messages are coming in over the Manager API interface. Is this 
supposed to be the case, or do I have anything missing in my 
configuration.
