In various places there are different optimizations set.  I was 
curious why they are hard coded whether it be -O or -O6 instead of 
letting the user set their own compiler flags.

Also it seems that we can in freebsd include <db.h> instead of the 
ast-db1 version that's in the source.  Are there any downsides to 
doing this?
