For reference:

The group HATES HTML email generally, and perky little animated logos even
more so..

Subject lines are helpful, subject lines are your friend!

The developer list is more for nitty gritty technical talk - You'll probably
find you get more feedback on the users mailing list. And maybe a flame or
two as well ;-)

In answer to what you want to do, I believe it's all possible with Asterisk
but wait for a bit more feedback from the list too.
