There has been some discussion on the IRC channel in the last few 
days about people developing IAX code for a potential hardphone 
product.

It would seem that if you could convince Broadcom to give you 
programming specs for their chipset, that would be a quick way around 
a lot of work.  Ethernet(s), serial drivers, PoE support, codecs, all 
built in.  One would need to build in the additional codecs, and IAX 
drivers.  I don't know if that's even possible, but having everything 
on a single chip (except flash, SDRAM, and maybe the LCD screen 
driver chips) sure sounds good.
