Thanks for the effort - but I don't have nameser_compat.h at all - so
there's other stuff in there I'm missing.

Appears to be because my glibc is older - think this box was
originally Mandrake 7.2 or so.  

I'll try to upgrade glibc/glibc-devel though I expect horrendous
dependency trouble!

Failing which I'll try grab a nameser_compat.h from elsewhere and see
what happens.
