[Asterisk-Dev] Offhook state on zap channel

Hi,

i have one quetsion:

what is the reason why the AST_STATE_OFFHOOK is not set if i take up the
phone (TDM40B FXS) ?

I have seen in the chan_zap.c that before the verbose message "setting up
simple switch on xxx" is the right place to do it, is it not?

Is there a reason for don't doing this ?
If not, is it possible to place the state command in the regular cvs-tree ?
