While I'm playing with the skinny driver, I have uncovered a couple of
annoyances. There seems to be a problem setting capabilities. I made a
crude hack that forces AST_FORMAT_ULAW and it solved some sound quality
issues. Without this hack I couldn't use mp3player. Here was the error
messages before the hack.
Dec 26 13:30:28 WARNING[229391]: File rtp.c, Line 1069 (ast_rtp_write): Not sure about sending format SLINR packets
Dec 26 13:30:28 WARNING[229391]: File rtp.c, Line 934 (ast_rtp_raw_write): Not sure about timestamp format for codec format SLINR
Something still doesn't seem right in that I seem to be having trouble
getting iax to use GSM when I'm using the 12sp+. This may be something
else, and I'm still playing with it.
