It's uncharted territory. We don't know with certainty. There may still be cases with IMPORT where it could deadlock but because it is seldom used noone has run into it. The same goes for this. IMPORT is also from a time before code review when anything could just go into the true. These days we are more strict and look at the ramifications and repercussions.
