Just to add something to the previous comment:
In Ubuntu, I can do
pkg-config --libs "python >= 2.7" or
pkg-config --libs "python >= 2.0"
pkg-config --libs "python >= 2" or
In NetBSD, I get "No package 'python' found" with this. That is the problem, I have to specify a specific version in NetBSD. Because 2.x is the version Asterisk is using on all supported platforms anyway, I do not see an issue. Please, elaborate in more detail.
