Patch Set 1:

Via the packages, we use the latest version anyway. For example, Ubuntu and Fedora update this to the latest version quite soon. Furthermore, this way we are informed early about issues. And that issue would be a real issue, because I asked the author for a download link which does not change the mayor version = does not not change the ABI. If there is an issue, its is likely this is upstream. When such a problematic version reaches the distributions, the problem is much bigger.
