Mhm. In OpenBSD, -R is a valid option and is the solution. I missed that this does not work in GNU based systems like Ubuntu. Puh. What is the approach then? Perhaps not calling ldconfig without a directory – or in other words: In the make target uninstall, call ldconfig with "$(ASTLIBDIR)/" as well. That should work. I changed the make target ld-cache-update just for consistency. What about that?
