I'm not sure what your not working case is supposed to show.
In the working case you connected via AMI, after which a SIP client connected using TCP to Asterisk and then did a REGISTER. This caused the ContactStatus event to get sent.
In the not working case you connected via AMI and then nothing. No SIP client connected using TCP, no REGISTER came in, nothing. I wouldn't expect a ContactStatus in this case - as nothing changed.
