Joseph Ades commented on ASTERISK-28878:
----------------------------------------

This issue is still not resolved. Compared asterisk 13.35 against asterisk 16.12 (and verified that the dialplan_functions.c and res_pjsip_session.c contain the updated information) and we are still not getting an invite to refresh the codecs. Attached two comparisons from my latest testing.

I also checked into the asterisk 13 dialplan_functions.s and res_pjsip_session.c files and I do not see that they contain the contents from asterisk 16 patch file. Is it possible that there is additional work needed to patch this issue?

> I am migrating from asterisk 13 and have successfully utilized the pjsip_media_offer function. Very simple code, not much else to it, and worked for years.

> After testing an asterisk 16 machine, using exactly the same code, I am unable to get it to work. The CLI reads the code, but does not do anything with it. Furthermore, after analyzing the packet capture, there is no evidence of the asterisk machine sending an INVITE to renegotiate the codec.
> I downgraded back to asterisk 13 and everything started to work again
