> GTK supports locales that have a major right-to-left directionality (Hebrew, Arabic, Farsi and such). When such a locale is installed as is in effect (see below) the layout of gmenuselect is quite messed up. usable, but not easy to understand.
> workarounds: The directionality of a GTK application is set from the LC_MESSAGES component of the locale. Hence, depending on your LANG/LC_*/LC_ALL/LANGUAGES (see the output of locale) you can override it with either:
