George Joseph created ASTERISK-26070:
----------------------------------------

Summary: ari/channels: Creating a local channel without an originator adds all audio formats to it's capabilities
                 Key: ASTERISK-26070
                 URL: https://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-26070
             Project: Asterisk
          Issue Type: Bug
      Security Level: None
          Components: Resources/res_ari_channels
    Affects Versions: 13.9.1, SVN
            Reporter: George Joseph
            Severity: Minor

When you create a local channel and don't specify an originator, the channel gets created with all audio formats in it's capabilities list. When an attempt is made to make the channel compatible with another, the translation path is created with the best format available, which in this case is slin at 192. While this is the best for quality, it's the worst for performance and is overkill in the vast majority of cases.
