> The Asterisk Test Suite requires knowledge of the upstream branch in order to know whether a test can execute against an installed version of Asterisk. After moving to Git, the Asterisk version currently consists of only a 'GIT" prefix followed by an object blob, e.g., {{GIT-as08d7}}. The Test Suite has no way of making sense of that.
> In order to fix this, each primary branch of Asterisk needs to report the branch that it is. Branches that track off of an upstream primary branch will then get the benefit of the Test Suite "knowing" which major version of tests are applicable.
