This sounds like it may be a duplicate of ASTERISK-24944. Can you look at that one and confirm?

If not, please provide the information [~mjordan] requested.

I've looked at app_mixmonitor.c and there is no changes except of ast_test_suite_event_notify call moved to a proper place, so I believe the problem is somewhere else...
