A common task in Asterisk administration is the manipulation of the log channels. This can be anything from:
* Rotating the existing log files
* Creating new log channels
* Removing existing log channels

The API proposed in the reference notes covers these operations. Using this, a remote system can manipulate dynamically the Asterisk logging on a system.
