I you're right,  the change needed to fix the audio problem is the one you've isolated. You can find further info related to that change here:  ASTERISK-23026 and https://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-23026.

Regarding the segfault: I'm not able to reproduce it on my test env, it happens only when running in production 6 to 10 concurrent sip peers that place calls for 3 to 4 hours. Anyway what is your operating system?
