-----------------------------------
Target Release Version/s: 12.4.0
> http: support persistent connections
> ------------------------------------
>
> Key: ASTERISK-23552
> URL: https://issues.asterisk.org/jira/browse/ASTERISK-23552
> Project: Asterisk
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Security Level: None
> Components: Core/HTTP
> Affects Versions: 12.0.0
> Reporter: Scott Griepentrog
> Assignee: Richard Mudgett
> Target Release: 12.4.0

> Due to increased usage of the Asterisk core HTTP transport, and the frequency at which REST API calls are going to be issued -- support for persistent connections (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_persistent_connection) should be added. This will decrease the overhead and processing time for HTTP requests, where the same client is talking to the same Asterisk instance, and both support persistent connections.
