Asterisk 1.4.44 is no longer supported, and hasn't been for quite some time. The difference between {{chan_sip}} in Asterisk 1.4.44 and Asterisk 1.8 is enormous, and any bug in Asterisk 1.4.44 in {{chan_sip}} is unlikely to be the same in Asterisk 1.8.
