Rusty Newton commented on ASTERISK-23374:
-----------------------------------------

During the process of developing content for this, I've decided that laying it out in this fashion is making things too complex as far as introductory tutorials go for the wiki.

The content was becoming redundant with what we have at [Hello World|https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Hello+World] and [Basic PBX Functionality|https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Basic+PBX+Functionality]

I've saved the content I was writing and I'm going to adjust the existing content with it instead of adding another tutorial that fits inbetween those two. I think it is enough to have the Hello World tutorial, which is very much for someone brand new and is very short, and then have the Basic PBX Functionality tutorial, which requires a bit more reading and is substantially longer in length.

The Hello World tutorial will be good to give someone a taste of working phone calls, and the Basic PBX Functionality should introduce them to using basic concepts of configuration and setup.

> Need to create content or move content if existing (doesn't appear to be) to have the following structure.
> * Basic Configuration
> ** Basic Configuration Overview
> *** orient user to Asterisk environment, briefly describe asterisk.conf, modules.conf and indications.conf, then point to Core Configuration section where that config will be described in detail
> ** Creating a Basic Dialplan
> ** Creating a Basic SIP Channel Driver Configuration
> *** sip.conf
> *** pjsip.conf
> The difference between this stuff and what we already have in "Deployment/Basic PBX Functionality" will be that the Basic Configuration section should focus on sort of breaking down a slightly more complex Hello World type scenario. That is breaking down the configuration needed for a simple phone call from one phone to Asterisk itself with a playback or something similar.
> The SIP channel driver and dialplan content in Basic PBX Functionality should focus on configuration two or more phones, calling between them, plus the other basic features of a PBX.
