I'm going off of Walter's comment that this is actually a duplicate of ASTERISK-17907 and was fixed by it.

If anyone is still having this problem in recent versions of Asterisk 1.8, please let a bug marshal know in #asterisk-bugs and we'll be happy to reopen it.
