Resolution: Won't Fix
File has an idea for implementing snooping technology in a much more generic way (see his post on [the app-dev list|http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-app-dev/2013-November/000201.html]. This would be a much cleaner path to get to monitoring than this idea.

> Note that Asterisk Test Suite tests should be written that cover monitoring a channel; destroying monitors; off nominal creation of monitors; as well as manipulating a monitor on a channel.
