Segfault occurs whether system is idle or is in-use

1. What's happening when the system idle. Is the only thing happening the registrations you mentioned?

Collect an Asterisk VERBOSE and DEBUG log during the issue occuring. https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Collecting+Debug+Information. Be sure you have them both set to level 5.

2. Are you able to copy the entire installation and reproduce it on another machine without these registrations happening?

3. Can you test with the latest release or SVN version of the 1.8.X branch just as a temporary measure to verify whether the issue is already fixed in a new version?

> Segfault occurs whether system is idle or is in-use. it will crash within a day or two even if 0 calls are made on it. running under safe_asterisk, results in multiple crashes within a few minutes until eventually system ends up in a MUTEX lock. over 3 gigs of RAM available and plenty of disk space at time of first crash. Possibly related to the 96 port gateway producing 96 SIP registrations all at once?
