I just had this happen again with Asterisk v1.11.4.0 on new Intel Xeon hardware using KVM with CentOS 6.  I think the compile flag is set too aggressively.  Please consider changing this default.  I think using -mtune=generic or -mtune=native would be a better choice.  -mtune=native corrected the issue for me again.
