please don't take my comments the wrong way;
i completely agree that the correct solution is to either
# separate ipv4 and ipv6 localhost
# make the daemon listen on all addresses necessary

all i'm doing (like with the rfc blurb) is adding more information to the topic; i'm not suggesting any course of action.
