oh, i see.  my daemon is not listening on ipv6, and asterisk 11 is trying ipv6 first.

i wonder what the behavior is for web browsers that run into the same pattern.  do they fail if a ipv6 address is found but no http server on ipv6:80 ?  will look into.

not sure if this is a bug after all, but certainly a NB in UPGRADE is warranted.
