If you want this to go in sooner rather than later, I'd suggest that you
remove a bit of the extra cruft that has crept in, stuff like changing out
ao2_t_ref with dialog_unref.  If you can distill the changeset down to the
minimum needed for 1.6.2 and 1.8, I can take the time to look at it and get
it committed.
